The ‘Stay and Play’ sessions, where families with under-5s can come and play, are running now every Monday at our Roupell Community Centre from 1.30 – 3.30pm.

These sessions are designed as drop-in-sessions, so no bookings required. Parents and carers are encouraged to bring a fruit or a healthy snack for their child or for others to share, but are otherwise FREE of charge. There are plenty of toys to choose from appropriate to the age group, and each session ends with a twenty minute ‘Story and Rhyme Time’, which encourages group learning and which little ones always seem to enjoy very much.

These sessions are run in partnership with the Treehouse Children’s Centre who provide their expert staff and run the sessions.

In order to secure sustainability, we are also currently recruiting for volunteers to help out run the sessions. If you have been out of work for a while or have never worked, then this might be an ideal opportunity for you to kick-start your career. This role can expand your experience in community involvement and early childhood learning; it can help develop communication skills and give you all the practical tools to run sessions successfully. This can then be used to further your employability skills, and with the added benefit of obtaining a reference as a result. Also, more often than not, volunteering is a direct route to a paid position, or can simply provide you with a clearer idea if a certain role is the right one for you.

You will be required to undertake safeguarding clearance to ensure eligibility (DBS – Disclosure and Barring Service). For more information and to register your interest please call Angela on 020 8678 9160 or call Alison on 020 8674 3440.
